Our children have rights
In the practice of parenting with NLP, our children have rights, equal dignity, value and respect. And I didn’t have to speak to you about a specific model of parenting, since these are basic rights of any child, anywhere in the planet!
Furthermore, they were also adopted by the United Nations, unanimously, on the 20th November 1989, through the convention on the rights of the child (CRC) – Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child.
54 articles, in a declaration that enunciates a wide range of fundamental rights- the civil and political rights, and also the economical, social and cultural rights – of every child, as well as the respective provisions so they are properly enforced.
Because our children have rights
This declaration acknowledges that the child has the right to life and, for her proper development, she must grow up in a familiar environment, with a climate of happiness, love and understanding. She must also be prepared to live an individual life in society and be educated in a spirit of understanding, tolerance, friendship between peoples, universal peace and brotherhood and with full consciousness that she must devote her energies and skills at the service of her equals.
I outline, in particular four columns of this Declaration :
Opinion of the child
The voice of the child must be heard and taken into account in all matters related to her rights.
No discrimination
Every child, anywhere in the world, has the right to develop her full potential. All have the right to equality, without distinction on account of race, religion or national origin. Every child has the right to a nationality, as well as a name.
The superior interest of the child
This must be a priority consideration in every action and decision regarding the child. Must fully enjoy games and play and has the right to a school education, which will be free and compulsory. Must be protected from any type of abandonment, cruelty and exploration. Will not be subject of any kind of traffic.
Survival and development
It outlines the vital relevance of the reassurance of basic and appropriated services and the equality of opportunities, including education and health, so every child can fully develop physically, mentally, morally, spiritually and socially in a healthy and normal manner, as well as with freedom and dignity.
The child with a physical or mental handicap or that suffers from any social impairment must receive the treatment, education and special care that his particular condition requires.
And since our children have rights, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is always the first and is the one that sustains all the others!
Let’s share the message that our children have rights, so it will finally be heard and primarily it will be achieved the superior well-being of each child that we’ve been blessed on Earth.
